Plain-English definitions for the terminology used across Pitch Notes.
- Accumulator
- A single bet that links multiple selections; all must win for the bet to pay out.
- American Odds
- Odds shown as a positive or negative number, indicating how much you win on a $100 bet or how much you must stake to win $100.
- Asian Handicap
- A spread betting system that eliminates the draw by giving a half‑goal advantage or disadvantage to each team.
- Bankroll Management
- The practice of setting and sticking to a budget for betting, to avoid overspending.
- Both Teams To Score
- A bet that both sides will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- A feature allowing you to settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or limiting a loss.
- Correct Score
- A bet predicting the exact final score of a match.
- Decimal Odds
- A way to express odds as a single number (e.g., 2.50) that includes the stake in the total return.
- Deposit Match
- A bonus that matches a percentage of your deposit, up to a set amount, requiring wagering before withdrawal.
- Double Chance
- A bet covering two of the three possible outcomes (home win, draw, away win) in a single wager.
- First Goal Scorer
- A bet on which player will score the opening goal of the match.
- Fractional Odds
- Odds displayed as a fraction (e.g., 3/2) that shows profit relative to the stake.
- Free Bet
- A promotional token that lets you place a bet without using your own money, with any winnings usually returned as bonus funds.
- In-Play Betting
- Placing bets on a match while it is already in progress, with odds that update live.
- Juice
- The commission taken by the bookmaker, usually built into the odds, also called vigorish.
- KYC
- Short for Know Your Customer; the process of verifying a player's identity and age to comply with regulations.
- Live Odds
- The constantly changing odds offered during an in‑play event, reflecting the current state of play.
- Moneyline
- A bet on which team will win the match, with odds shown as a positive or negative number.
- Over/Under
- A bet predicting whether the total number of goals in a match will be over or under a set figure.
- Point Spread
- A handicap given to the underdog team to level the betting field, expressed as a number of goals.
- Responsible Gambling
- A set of practices and tools designed to help players gamble safely and within their means.
- Rollover Requirement
- The number of times you must wager a bonus amount before you can withdraw any winnings.
- Self-Exclusion
- A self‑imposed ban from betting for a specified period, blocking access to your account.
- Unit
- A standard amount of money used to measure the size of a bet, often a fixed percentage of your bankroll.
- Value Bet
- A bet where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving an expected profit.
